Amber Bentleyy: Mac Cream Colour Base

Today I am going to be talking about Mac's Cream Colour Base in Pearl. This is a new purchase for me and I have been trying it out for around 2 weeks now. I absolutely adore highlighters or anything that will give me a glow without making me look oily. With someone that has normal/dry skin sometimes my skin can just look a little dull in general so products like this appeal to me!

To start off with it is typical packaging from Mac, nothing special but this product will travel well as it clicks shut so you will not have to worry about it going everywhere in your bag/makeup bag. At a glance in the pan it comes across as looking very shimmery. Mac describes this product as being versatile and multi-purpose and that it can be applied directly to bare skin or layered over foundation, moisturiser or powder.

My preference is to use this product after I have applied my foundation and I will just take my middle finger and blend it in to the areas that I would usually apply highlighter (tops of cheekbones, top of my lip and slightly on my chin and down my nose). I will then use a highlighting power over the top to make the highlight look more intense. I will also use it if I am in a rush and I don't have time to apply liquid foundation and I can only throw on some powder and will put some on top of that. Although you only want to apply a little bit if you are going to apply this over powder because if you use too much it can be a bit of a pain to blend, a little goes a long way with this technique!! Pearl is definitely one of those products that helps to make your skin look really healthy without looking too crazy!
