I recently did a post about my pamper evening routine so I thought I would write about what I do on a everyday basis in the evening and what products I enjoy to use. I probably should just mention before I dive into the products that I have dry skin and I can be prone to stubborn spots! (I call them my stress spots lol!)
Baby wipes/makeup remover wipes
So straight after I've popped my falsies off I like to use a baby wipe or a makeup remover wipe (I don't have a preference just whatever I happen to have) and use that to remove the majority of my eye makeup (eyeshadow, mascara and my eyebrows!). I do use it slightly on the the rest of my face just to get the initial layer of foundation and powder off.
Micellar cleansing water
After I've used a baby wipe/makeup remover wipe I like to go in with some micellar water. My favourite is the ones from Garnier. I pour a little bit on to two cotton pads and gently rub them all over my face, this picks up all the makeup that the wipe wasn't able to get. I will say that is doesn't matter what brand of micellar water I use it always ends up stinging my eyes a little so I don't use this product around my eyes (hence the baby wipes!)
Facial Wash
I use the two ways above to remove my makeup so after that I like to go in with a facial wash that will assure that there is no makeup on my face anymore but will just clean my skin in general. The one that I have been loving to use lately is from Neutrogena and it is their Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash. Not only do I love the fact it's pink (my favourite colour) or the fact that is smells lush, it does a great job at cleansing my skin and it doesn't break out my pretty sensitive skin.
Facial Scrub
I can't really use a facial scrub everyday because of how dry my skin gets but when I do use one I notice that it really helps with any of my unwanted blemishes. The one I have been using lately is also from Neutrogena and is from the same line as the facial wash. It is called Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub. I find that this is strong enough to remove dirt and dead skin cells but is also kind enough to the skin so that it doesn't irritate it in anyway. I think if you had oily/combination skin you could use this everyday. If I'm feeling like I need something a little extra I will use a facial exfoliating sponge.
Moisturiser
When I've finished cleansing my face I like to go in with two different moisturisers. One that I concentrate around the eye area - the one I love is from Boots.com and is their Essential Cucumber Eye Gel. Now this product is really inexpensive but I really love it, I have a pretty sensitive eye area when it comes to using products and I do find that lots of products can cause some stinging and redness. This gel does not. The moisturiser I love to use for my whole face is from Garnier and it is their Moisture Bomb Night Cream. This is like a gel/water type of moisturiser if that makes sense? It's really really hydrating and I highly recommend it for people that suffer from dry skin. Also the tissue mask from the same range is amazing.
Spot treatment
So once I've done all of the above if I notice that I have any annoying little lurkers I will take the time to apply my favourite spot treatment which is the Mario Bedescu Drying Lotion. I will let my moisturiser sink in for a while before I apply this product and the way that I use it is to get a cotton bud and dip through the liquid till you reach the pink at the bottom then I just apply a small dot wherever the blemish is. I pick this up from beautybay.com and I will sleep with it on and wash anything remaining off when I wake up in the morning.
What do you guys use during your evening skincare routine?
Thanks for taking the time to read;
