Top 5 Foundations For Dry Skin

Hey guys!

This post today is going to be about my top 5 favourite foundations for those of us that have dry skin.

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation
This a great high-end foundation for those of you with dry skin because it's one of those foundations that doesn't really tend to set if that makes sense? So if you have ultra dry skin then this is going to be hydrating for you although I would always recommend that you set with a little bit of powder since it can end up being one of those foundations that transfer which can end up being a little bit embarrassing if you go in for a hug with someone and you get foundation on their clothes. But seriously this foundation doesn't cling to any of my dry patches and gives my skin a nice healthy glow but without making me look oily or sweaty. It lasts a decent amount of time on the skin but if you don't set it with any powder then it can start coming off, especially if you are someone that likes touching your face. In my opinion it is medium - full coverage and is really easy to build up and I have no problems trying to cover up any of my blemishes.

Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' Foundation
This is one of my favourite foundations to wear on a daily basis since it is a light weight foundation and in my opinion has quite sheer coverage although it is totally buildable. It doesn't feel heavy on my skin at all and again leaves me with a nice healthy glow. The wear time with this can differ, I would definitely recommend setting with a powder again since it can slide around a little bit and if I don't use any powder then I can find if I leave it on for you know like 5+ hours then I can actually end up looking bit oily. But this is great if you like that no makeup look since it blends into the skin really nicely and it has never caused me to break out or anything like that.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
I love this for when I want healthy looking skin but I want a bit more coverage - I find that this covers a lot more than the Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' Foundation but it doesn't look cakey and still looks really natural. Your skin but better. It will cover up blemishes you may have and it is very buildable. To me this one lasts a lot longer on the skin than the other foundations I've mentioned and it doesn't transfer as easy but I do still like to set with a little bit of powder. Again this doesn't break me out at all and doesn't cling to any dry patches or emphasise any of my pores.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation
This is for the people that like a full coverage foundation! You can apply a sheer layer and it will look gorgeous throughout the day or you can apply a thicker layer and it can double up as a full coverage day or night look. This foundation definitely lasts the longest on the skin out of all the other foundations I've mentioned although it probably looks the most noticeable if that makes sense. It's quite a thick formula. I love the smell of this foundation (weird I know) and it doesn't break me out, it is like my ride or die if I'm going out for the day and I don't want to wear a matte foundation because I can apply it, again use a little bit of powder but then besides maybe a couple of touch ups depending on what I'm doing I really don't have to worry about it all day. I know that it's going to stay looking decent! It doesn't transfer as much as the others and is just a great all rounder. This is the only foundation that I am going to mention on my list that could also be used for people that have oily skin since if you set it you're pretty much good to go.

L'oreal Lumi Magique Foundation
I'm currently finding this foundation quite hard to get my little mitts on which is a little bit disappointing since I hope it isn't being discontinued. Anyhow this foundation has a medium - build able coverage in my opinion and is just really really glowy. Again you might want to set this in certain problematic areas (my worst is in-between my brows & my forehead). Since it can transfer but this looks stunning on the skin. If applied with a beauty blender it can literally look like you've got no foundation on since it blends into the skin so nicely. Lasting time for me is not too long but if you keep a powder on you for some touch ups then you are good to go. If I had to think of a perfect time to use this foundation then it would be a nice evening out at the beach (if that makes sense), as much as I do really love this foundation the lasting power does put me off wearing it on a day I know I'm going to be busy.
