Jeffree Star | Velour Liquid Lipstick Review

Hey guys!!

Today is this post I am going to be talking about the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks...

Left to right; Gemini, Androgyny, Celebrity Skin, Posh Spice, Dreamhouse.

So for starters the packaging for the liquid lipsticks is a plastic tube and the lid and other details are a hot pink colour. There is Jeffree Star's logo on the lid and then stars around the tube. I love the packaging I think it looks sleek and it's great to display because of the colours. And pink is my favourite colour so I mean come on.. He does release different packaging (as in colours) for different collections so you may see some variations but his permanent line is all pink I believe. The wand on these liquid lipsticks is like no other I've seen because it's like curved. When I first saw it I wondered how I'd use it since I get on alright with most applicators but when using this I find that the curve in the wand works really well, it helps to get a even coverage and it doesn't take me long to apply this product and I think that is down to the wand.

The curved wand applicator - great for the natural curve of the lips.

So I would say the consistency of the liquid lipsticks is actually quite watery which did take me by surprise at first but don't be fooled because these are seriously pigmented but at the same time some how stay quite thin and comfortable on the lips.

Now with all liquid lipsticks I think it is important to do some lip prep first and the way I like to do this is to exfoliate my lips - you can use a lip scrub or just use your toothbrush or even a damp flannel/towel. After that I always apply a lip balm of some description I love the ones from EOS or just Vasaline. Once you've done all this you are ready to apply the liquid lipstick and if you've done the steps above then your lips should look gorgeous! I find that if I don't do any lip prep before applying, a liquid lipstick can really emphasize lines and flaky skin on the lips - not a good look for me. Anyway... These last a really long time on the lips (I can drink and eat and these still cling on) and I find when they do eventually start coming off they actually kind of fade nicely if that makes any sense?

Jeffrey Stars liquid lipsticks are 100% vegan and cruelty-free!! - Always a plus in my book!

So all in all I have to say I love these liquid lipsticks, they are opaque and they stay on the lips for a really long time whilst still being comfortable, they don't really flake on the lips and it's easy to add another coat. I love the colour selection because there is something for everyone - nudes and crazy bright colours. So I highly recommend these if you have not tried them..

What's your favourite liquid lipstick??
